Update: Cyclone Gabrielle

Kia ora e te whānau,

We have been closely monitoring all information about the impact of cyclone Gabrielle. Based on the current advice from Auckland Emergency Management and Met Service, we have made the decision to close the school on Monday 13th February.

This is not a decision that we’ve taken lightly, and has been made with the safety and wellbeing of our staff, tamariki and wider community in mind.

We will assess the weather conditions and latest advice throughout the day tomorrow, and update on whether we will remain closed on Tuesday 14th February by 4pm on Monday.

Please continue to monitor and follow advice from Auckland Emergency Management. Regular updates will be sent from the school and will be posted to HERO and our Website.

NEMA Advice: The most recent advice (9:00 am Sunday 12 February) we have received from NEMA (in full) is to:

  1. prepare for road closures in impacted areas

  2. prepare for power outages in impacted areas

  3. do not wait for an evacuation order to move to safety

  4. secure any loose items

  5. clear stormwater drains

  6. avoid unnecessary travel.
