Student Opportunities

School Camp

Our Year 5 and 6 students are on a 2 year cycle where they will go to camp.

Marae Trips

Our Year 2 and 3 students are on a 2 year cycle where they will have a Marae experience.

Kapa Haka

In our Māori-Medium, our tamariki participate in regular kapa haka. In our English-Medium, tamariki are able to participate in Kapa Haka with our Te Puāwaitanga Classroom Release Kaiako during break times.

School Councillors

In Year 6, our tamariki have an opportunity to join the student council where they lead school in various activities and kaupapa.

Sport

Basketball, Netball, Intercity sport.

Matariki

Te Mātahi o te Tau – Every year, when the star cluster, Matariki rises to signify the new year, your child will have the opportunity to engage in this event as a kura.

Band

Kaiako have the opportunity to work with our tamariki to develop their musical skills.

Rōpū Whakahaumanu

Our enviro-group work on the various green spaces around our kura on different kaupapa: planting, weeding, harvesting.

Kea Crossing

Year 5 and 6 students have an opportunity to work with our Community Constable to be school patrols up on our Kea crossing.

Chess Club

Our kaiako run a lunchtime club where our tamariki can come and practice on their chess skills to compete in competitions in our rohe.

Lewis Eddy Music

Lewis Eady Music School offers group or individual lessons on a range of instruments: piano, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, singing, drum kit… the hard part is choosing which instrument!
