Yesterday, a group of Student Councillors, supported by some of our Muslim students, attended Ponsonby mosque to present our cards of aroha, and to donate the money we collected as a school community. This was the first time our councillors had visited a mosque and one student commented that the manaakitanga provided by our hosts, with food and aroha provided, felt a lot like a Mārae. We have been invited to visit again in the future and we plan to take them up on the offer.
