COMMUNITY FOOD SCRAPS  FOR COMPOST HUB

 width=

Newton Central School has partnered with the organisation Doughnut Economics Advocates NZ (DEANZ), to  compost local community food scraps. We are on a mission to divert as much food waste in our community away from the landfill and into our community compost bins. We will transform your food scraps into a valuable resource to help grow vegetables and promote a circular system of food production.

Drop off procedure: Simply empty your food scraps into our collection bins on any day or time that suits you. We can even provide you with a free 10L container for your food scraps. Our collection bins are located at the end of Waima Street along the Newton Central School fence, before the walking/cycling bridge.

You can view our hub on a map at https://sharewaste.org.nz/share-waste
