At Newton Central Primary School we accept enrolments from international students for Years 1 to 6.  Our code of practise, state that all young international students must live with a parent in New Zealand to study at Newton Central Primary School.

Cathy Smith

I have been involved with international students for many years and I am very lucky to work in a happy, caring and well-informed school.  

Josephine McKendrey

Josephine has worked at Newton Central since 2004.  She has worked as a classroom teacher as well as in her management roles in the senior leadership team. She works mostly supporting the Principal with the day-to-day running of the school and with students, teachers, kaiāwhina and families with special needs.

Lata Laing

Position: ESOL / International Students Teacher / Reading Recovery Teacher

I always value that our parents and families are a child’s first teachers. By the time they come to school, I love it when we see a child continue to grow in confidence as they learn to read, write, do maths and make friendships and develop in other areas.
