Te Uru Karaka Newton Central School has honed a co-governance structure for over 25 years, and in 2023 our alternative constitution to formalise and protect our co-governance structure was approved by the Ministry of Education.
This alternative constitution reinforces our primary objective to govern the school with a commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi through the principles of partnership, good faith and rangatiratanga of Māori.
