Tomorrow's Schools Today - news and resources in education for staff and supporters of NZ schools
Safekids New Zealand - helping to reduce the high rate of unintentional injury to children.
School Holiday Programmes
Youthtown - Reasonably priced, full day (8am - 6pm) options with both organised day trips from, and in-house programmes based in, Nelson Street. Be warned you have to book well in advance to get a place as those children that go to Youthtown for after-school care get priority placement.
Parnell Trust - Full day programmes.
YMCA - Full day programmes.
Kidactive - Full day programmes.
ArtStation - Based at the top of Ponsonby Rd near K'Rd, Artstation has art workshops (usually half day) at various dates through the school holidays.
Auckland City Art Gallery - 2 hour workshops that run daily during the holidays.

BrainPop - educational movies for children on many exciting subjects
Enchanted Learning - a collection of excellent links, mainly suitable for junior learners
Bubbledome - an outstanding New Zealand based website that exercises children's creativity and imagination. Great for developing thinking skills. This site has many interactive features
FunBrain Grammar - provides games to help children develop literacy and numeracy skills
māori.org.nz - an excellent site for resources, for example waiata and clipart
Yahoo! Kids - provides a filtered child-friendly search engine. This is the main search engine we use at Newton Central School.
