Te Whānau O Te Uru Karaka O Newton Central

Newton Central School undertook a contract with the Ministry of Education in 2010 to identify the strengths and successes of Māori medium education here and to enable others to learn from what we are doing. The result culminated in a report identifying the achievement results of our tamariki in both Te Reo Māori and English and some of the contributing factors to this success.

Following receipt of the report, the Ministry engaged Hana Pomare - Editor - of Hana Limited to develop an audio visual depiction of that success and the contributing factors. This video, along with the report, will be placed on the Ministry of Education website to enable access and sharing of what we are doing here.
